3/23 - ATO Receives Award of Distinction from North-American Interfraternity Conference
The chapter was recently nominated by Emory's Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life for the North-American Interfraternity Conference Chapter Award of Distinction and went on to receive this prestigious award. The award is given to any of the 5,500 chapters from all member fraternities and sororities. Not only was being nominated for the award a huge honor, but winning the award puts the Alpha Theta chapter in a league of its own, especially after recently winning ATO's Top Chapter award. This year has been the year of Alpha Theta. Every brother of Alpha Theta, whether he is a current student or an Alum, contributed to this award because we have all molded Alpha Theta into what it is today. And of course, a huge thanks goes to Paul McLarty for his never-ending support of the Alpha Theta Chapter.
3/17 - Brother Chipp Schwab wins American Debate Association National Championship
Chipp Schwab recently won the American Debate Association National Championship, outing teams from schools such as University of Georgia, Wake Forest University, and Harvard University. Chipp has qualified for the National Debate Tournament, a tournament that all in the debating circle consider to be the Super Bowl of debate.
2/29 - ATO Nationals Visits Alpha Theta
A representative from ATO Roadshow visited Emory's campus on February 29th in order to interview two highly successful brothers: Alex Kappus and Sean Belnick. Alex is a sophomore and was recently recognized as a winner of one of Emory's Humanitarian Awards for his work on creating Synergy - a group dedicated to creating a sense of community on campus and making Emory friendlier. He is only the second sophomore in Emory's history to receive the award. Sean was recently featured on the cover of Atlanta Business Chronicle. Sean is a true entrepreneur as the co-founder of BizChair.com and he has been frequently recognized for his achievements - including being named one of the Twenty Best Entrepreneurs under 20.
